LGBT communities asked to share their experiences of the Criminal Justice SystemHave you been a victim of or witness to a crime? What was your experience of the service? Would you like to help the criminal justice system improve its service to London's LGBT communities? The CPS wants people from LGBT communities to be part of a focus group that will contribute towards the development and improvement of its services and increase their confidence in reporting crime to us. The objectives are to:
'The CPS would like LGBT victims of crime to be more confident in reporting crime and in receiving a fair and just service,' said Stefania Russo, Equality and Diversity Officer, CPS London. 'This is an excellent opportunity for LGBT people to shape the services delivered by the criminal justice system.' The focus group, facilitated by Galop, will meet on 28 February at an inner London central location. Refreshments will be available and attendees will also receive a voucher as an appreciation of their time. All enquiries and comments expressed will be confidential and anonymous. Volunteers/members of the focus group will answer questions either by attending the London focus group or completing a questionnaire. A report will be published and distributed to London LGBT Fora and local LGBT communities and be available on the CPS web site. If you would like to be part of this group or for more details please contact Stefania Russo on 0207 378 4364 or email mailto:Stefania.russo@cps.gsi.gov.uk. |
