TUC recognition for amicus-lgbt activist

At last year's TUC Congress, the TUC Women's Gold Badge was presented to Lesley Mansell for her equalities work over many years. Lesley is a member of both the amicus LGBT Committee and Women's Committee, and was heavily involved in the early work to set up LAGIM (now amicus-lgbt) in 1989.

The TUC Gold Badge and the other awards are only given to reps who have shown noteworthy achievement in their respective field. Prior to the awards being presented, Congress delegates were shown a short video including brief interviews with each of the award recipients. The Gold Badge and the other awards were presented by the Rt Hon Gordon Brown.
