Manchester European Day of Action, 2005-04-02

A demonstration will be held in Manchester on 2nd April to support Moses Kayiza (27), who is a refugee from Uganda and who is threatened with deportation. Moses was forced to leave his home country after suffering torture and sexual abuse at the hands of the authorities when they discovered he was gay. Since arriving in Manchester, Moses has campaigned actively on LGBT and Asylum issues. However, his application for asylum in the UK has been refused by the British authorities and he faces being deported back to Uganda.

The demonstration is part of the European Day of Action.

Participants should assemble in Sackville Park, adjacent to Canal Street, at 12:30. The march will finish in Albert Square at 14:30.
